#1 Amore Uptown in Minnesota
The owner of Amore Uptown, Basir Tareen, decided to remove print menus entirely from the tables at his restaurant in Minnesota. Instead, he’s added a table tent with a QR Code so customers can see the menu directly from their phone, without having to touch a paper menu. Tareen is a practicing physician, so he understands the importance of giving every opportunity to improving customer safety amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
#2 Sadelle’s in Las Vegas
Sadelle’s is a restaurant located in the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Las Vegas. Quite the popular restaurant that draws crowds due to their location, Sadelle’s needed a clever plan to manage waiting lists and share menus without physical touch. Customers who entered the restaurant first view a display sign with two QR Codes: One to join the waiting list, and another to view the menu options.
Once customers sign up for the waiting list, they receive a small disposable menu with a QR Code that they can take with them and view while waiting for their table and also at the table to help with placing their order.
#3 Westchester & Rockland Restaurants in New York
Restaurants across Westchester and Rockland in New York are taking full precautions to ensure customer safety now that they’re allowed to open. In addition to adding hands-free hand sanitizer stations to tables, they’ve also created digital versions of their menus with QR Codes so that customers don’t need to touch the print ones. This is a win-win situation because it also reduces the risk for staff.

#4 Steak + Vine in Chicago
Steak + Vine restaurant in Chicago, Illinois recently opened its doors to the public. While they began with disposable menus, they soon realized that they needed to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of their customers. So, they created PDF versions of their menus split into 4 sections: Kids menu, dinner menu, beer list, and liquor list. This made it easy for customers to check the menu section that was relevant for them and conveniently place an order with the waiter.
#5 Palace Cafe in New Orleans
Palace Cafe in New Orleans provides multiple options to view their restaurant menu via QR Codes. First, they’ve placed a QR Code directly on the display on their restaurant window so that customers can view it and consider their orders before even coming to the restaurant.
Second, customers can view the menu from the table without needing to touch the print version, because they can scan the QR Code instead.
#6 Casabea in Lyon, France
Restaurant owners Gregoire and Beatrice Talamon of Casabea in Lyon, France are doing everything within their efforts to keep their customers safe and abide by social distancing regulations. They used QR Codes to do precisely this by adding a sticker with a QR Code on their tables to give customers no-touch access to their menus. With just a quick scan, their full menu is available for digital viewing with a PDF.
#7 Newhall Refinery in Los Angeles, California
Restaurant owners Simon and Shannon Mee of Newhall Refinery in Los Angeles have given every ounce of effort to make their restaurant as no-touch as possible. They created a new PDF version of their menu and added it to table display signs with a QR Code. The new and improved menu has pictures of all the food to help lessen the times that staff need to help customers directly at the table. Customers can even directly pay via the QR Code as well, streamlining their entire customer service process, making things convenient for customers, and reducing the risk on behalf of the staff.

#8 Devilicious Eatery in Old Town Temecula, California
Devilicious Eatery is a restaurant and bar located in Temecula California has worked tirelessly to educate their staff about how they can keep their customers safe and adhere to social distancing regulations. They’ve added hands-free sanitizer stations around the restaurant, separated tables accordingly, and created QR Codes for their food menu, cocktail drinks list, and beer list. By placing these QR Codes on display signs around the restaurant, customers can access the appropriate menu without physically touching them as well as maintain distance from other customers.
#9 Da Enzo in Rome, Italy
Da Enzo in Rome, Italy converted their print menus into PDF versions using a QR Code. In order to keep things as cost-effective as possible, they simply did so using a paper that the waitstaff shows to customers at their tables. It takes mere seconds for customers to view the whole menu via mobile and place their orders. Furthermore, it was a quick fix for a small business that was financially feasible, but still makes a massive difference in keeping their customers safe.
#10 Duke’s in Chiang Mai, Thailand
A restaurant in Thailand called Duke’s used a QR Code to digitize their menu and added it to their restaurant window. This had multifaceted advantages because not only do they no longer need to print out papers that are wasteful for the environment, but customers can now view the menu and choose their food before even entering the restaurant. Plus, their staff no longer need to sanitize menus after each use, which lessens their workload and improves customer service.

#11 OEB Breakfast Co in Vancouver, Canada
OEB Breakfast Co is a restaurant in Vancouver, Canada that has focused on making the most out of the 50% capacity regulations by giving their customers the safest and most enjoyable experience possible. The majority of customers are seated outside, but those who preferred to sit inside were given a QR Code so they could access a contactless menu. They’ve also removed their minibars and added glass screens between tables to help with social distancing.
#12 Boon Fly Cafe in California
Boon Fly Cafe in the Bay Area of California took hygienic menus to the highest level. They created a PDF version of their menu and converted it into a QR Code, which was then placed under a locked glass case. This enables customers to automatically view the menu without touch and be absolutely certain that no single person could touch that menu – even the staff!
#13 Restaurants in San Antonio, Texas
Sangria on the Burg and Noodle Tree are two restaurants that have worked together to digitize their menus using QR Codes. Because they’re so convenient, the owner of Noodle Tree, Mike Nguyen, thinks that this will likely be a permanent part of his business even after coronavirus ends. He’s also been promoting the use of QR Code menus to help restaurants both with dine-in and take-out services.

Mesa, a restaurant located in Minnesota, has harnessed the full power of QR Codes to keep customers safe. Their menu is fully available via smartphone with just a quick QR Code scan, requiring absolutely no physical touch. They’ve also taken the extra step to provide customers with hand sanitizer and disposable face masks to minimize any chance of the virus spreading.
